 BRIAN
BROPHY, Director, Lecturer, received his M.A. from
California State University, Los Angeles and has a long and
varied performance background in theater, film, television and
radio. He is a member of Los Angeles' Actor's Gang and can be
seen in such films as The Shawshank Redemption, The
Player, and The Cradle Will Rock. He has worked
extensively with community-based theater and is the recipient of
grants from the City of Los Angeles and the California Arts
Council for his work with at-risk L.A. area students. At UCR, he
has directed Tales of the Lost Formicans and The
Laramie Project.

Victor: I had Brophy for
Theater10 my sophomore year when he was working on "The Laramie
Project". The class kind of hurt because of it, but everyone still
liked him. He's a swell guy! His students and actors under his
guidance can learn a lot from him. I have to have a long talk
with him one day about working in film and TV. Thanks Broph!
